Framing a Photograph for Gallery Display

One method that art galleries use to provide a uniform display of a variety of prints is to call for the image to be framed in a simple narrow black metal frame with a generous (3″, 7.5 cm) white mat surround.

This is how I do the job…

Materials used:

♦ 16″ x 20″ Single Mat Conservation Paper – White Wash, opening: 9″ x 13″

♦ 16″ x 20 Matshop Mouldings – Regular Black Metal

♦ 16″ x 20″ Backing Foamcore AF Black 3/16

♦ 16″ x 20″ Glazing Plexi – 1 mm

All supplies from the MatShop, Canada.
