Fall in the Kurimoto Japanese Garden

Kurimoto Japanese Garden at the Devonian Gardens

Canada’s Thanksgiving Day is the last day that the Devonian Botanic Gardens are officially open before the arrival of winter. My wife and I took the opportunity to take some photographs of the fall colours that we knew would be present. The highlight of the garden at this time of the year is the larch trees that have now turned golden. unfortunately the ponds have been drained, and the waterfall and stream are silent, but there is still a serene beauty to be found in this garden if you enter early in the day before clusters of people begin to move in. The Kurimoto Garden is a real treasure, certainly the best traditionally designed garden in all of Alberta.

This will be the first in a series of landscapes from the Kurimoto Garden that will also include more intimate views. All the photographs will be available in my online Kurimoto gallery.
